OUR HISTORY

The church began in the basement of a member’s home 45 years ago.  The congregation eventually purchased the white, now grey, church on the corner of Porter and Meyer and remained there until God decided to move us into a new direction.  We loved our little white church on the corner, and it was home to many of us, but it did present some challenges with the stairs for our elderly and disabled, and we were land locked as well, with not much expansion potential.

The property where Wedgwood Boys Home was located became available.  The price was way out of our comfort zone along with some other potentially tricky issues.  However, as long as God was opening doors we were willing to walk through them, and that He did all the way to the end.  Many “miracles” were performed during this time, we believed God had parted the waters for us like He did for the Israelites that day to cross the Red Sea and get safely to the other side.

In the late summer of 2008 we moved in to our new facility full of potential and opportunity.  We are very excited about what God has and is doing in our midst.  In the Spring of 2010 we moved the Daycare from the old property to the new facility as well with much more room and ability to meet the needs of more people.

Today, we continue to move forward as God directs our path!

Our newly renovated Worship Center is dedicated in loving memory to the man who helped Abundant Life become what it is today and faithfully served as Senior Pastor for 24 years, Dale Cross Sr.
